Let's go!

It's the 24th of October. Finally! After 10 years I'll fly back to New Zealand, to my family and towards the probably biggest adventure of my life so far. If I'm nervous, you're wondering? Yes. Yes, I am deadly nervous. But even more extremely excited and happy for getting the chance of making my big dream come true. 

All is ready to go: my dad and I packed my much beloved bike very carefully, ready for the flight of in total 22 hours. As the bike+box+panniers weigh 25kg, I only packed some of my essential clothing, just 5kg! Quite proud of that achievement already, haha. My red small backpack will travel along with me as well. 4 years ago we made our first big trip to America together and it accompanied me every day since while studying, traveling, training and adventureing in Europe. Now that's one devoted travel companion, isn't it.

With a ton of music on my ipod, over 100 books on my e-reader and so many nice messages from friends, I am good to go. 8.45pm the flight to Kuala Lumpur departs, 11 hours. From there it's another 11 hours to Auckland, where my family will pick me up from the airport. How warm can a welcome be!

So get ready New Zealand, this blond dutchie is ready to ride your tracks, walk your mountains, cuddle your cows and meet your friends. Let's go!
